While still finishing up my senior year in 2022, I was offered a full-time job at Casey's after a successful summer internship in 2021. Casey's is the 3rd largest convenience store as well as the 5th largest pizza chain in the U.S. I returned as a Graphic Designer working on print and digital graphics spanning across multiple platforms. This includes, but is not limited to: media activations, monthly promotions, printed signage, digital screens, social media, and more.
Direct Response Marketing - Email
In the Spring of 2023, we aligned together and decided to rework the email layout for a more seamless and coherent look. Since this change, email open rates increased 68% for web and mobile applications by enhancing user experience with streamlined email layouts featuring promo codes for guests.
Pepperoni Pepperoni Pepperoni Campaign
In the Spring of 2023, we did multiple applications for the Pepperoni Pepperoni Pepperoni Campaign (nicknamed "3x Pep"). Above are gifs placed in emails, on social channels, and on web ads, as well as the signage used on the exterior of stores.
Screens
At gas pumps and in Casey's stores, promotions play while guests wander around the store or fuel up their vehicles. The design team is responsible for effectively communicating the promotion using motion applications that fit the need for the space.
Social Media Content
During my collaboration with the social media team, we brainstormed post ideas, coordinated both in-house and external photoshoots, and partnered with NIL athletes. We also adapted our strategy multiple times when needed to enhance brand awareness. As a result of these adjustments, we achieved a 3% increase in engagement across all social platforms within a single quarter.
2024 Community Impact Report
As well as designing and managing Casey's promotional items, designers are asked to create internal projects too. In May of 2024, I crafted the Community Impact Report which lives on the Casey's website for a full year.
INTERNSHIP
In the summer of 2021, I had the privilege of working at Casey's as their graphic design intern. During my 11-week internship, I worked on projects in all media types ranging from large print items to digital work. Daily, I experienced collaboration levels from just one person to across multiple departments working on several projects simultaneously. I deepened my knowledge of design by skill-building upon existing design techniques, shadowing several product photoshoots, and understanding correct brand guide etiquette.
